Appalachian State “Hosts Semicolon Week”

Story by: Christina Beals

“A semicolon is used when an author could’ve chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. That author is you and the sentence is your life.”
-Project Semicolon

“Semicolon Week focuses on continuing stories and providing the resources that we can capitalize on to push forward. The premise is that this simple and commonly used symbol shows support and promotes awareness of mental health and suicide. Your story continues. Semicolon Week partners include: Alpha Gamma Omega Fraternity, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – NC Chapter, Counseling and Psychological Services, Mental Health Ambassadors, Student Government Association, Wellness Educators for Change, Advocacy, and student Needs (WE CAN). Contact Elisabeth Cavallaro, Coordinator for Student Mental Wellness,  at cavallaroe@appstate.edu for questions.”
