In local news, the Watauga County Board of Elections has completed its biennial list maintenance and removal of inactive voters. According to the Watauga Democrat, accurate voter rolls are maintained by removing voters who have moved, died or are otherwise uneligble to vote in that jurisdiction. The list maintenance occurs when the board has no contact with a voter for the previous two statewide general elections and the voter has not voted during that time. Due to these factors, 2,244 confirmation letters are sent out. As a result of the maintenance, Watauga County’s voter registration went from 45,516 on January 1 to 42,869 as of February 25.

The restaurant said the children are loud, use explicit language, throw trash and food on the floor, vandalize furniture, steal decorations and disrespect employees. The announcement was made on the restaurant’s facebook page.
