Now to sports.

App State baseball stayed hot, as they beat the UNC Ashville Bulldogs 7-3 yesterday at the Greenwood baseball field. Hayden Cross had a good game at the plate, going 3-5 with an RBI single, and CJ Boyd had two hits, including a triple and an RBI off of a sacrifice fly ball. The win continues a hot streak for the Mountaineers, as they have won three of the past four games. That included a series win at Louisiana this past weekend, which meant that they won their first three conference series for the first time since joining the sun belt. The 16-11 Mountaineers are only four wins off from their win total last year, and will play their next series starting tomorrow at 6PM against Louisiana Monroe in Boone.

College basketball has ended, and a new men’s and women’s champion have been crowned. The UCONN Huskies have won their fifth men’s basketball national championship after beating the San Diego State Aztecs 76-59. The Huskies dominated their competition, winning every NCAA tournament game by double digits on their tournament run. The LSU Tigers won their first ever women’s basketball national championship, defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85. The 102 points in the national championship were the most points scored by any women’s basketball team in a women’s national championship game, and even exceeded any point total by an individual team in a women’s final four game.
