In campus news, AppalCart Transit announces that they will be demoing a double decker bus on their Pop 105 Route until October 8, 2021. The bus allows room for 84 passengers not including standing room. AppalCart encourages passengers to scan the QR code on the bus to give their feedback.


The Watauga Democrat warns that Hurricane Sam could bring life threatening surf and rip currents along the east coast this weekend, as the storm turns toward the north. Sam is currently a category 4 hurricane in the Atlantic ocean. The storm is not currently forecasted to make landfall, but beach goers should be wary of the increased riptides this weekend.


YouTube announces that it will be cracking down on vaccine misinformation. The New York Times reports that Youtube has banned the accounts of prominent anti-vax activists including Joseph Mercola and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The site also pledges to remove videos with false claims that the COVID vaccines cause autism, cancer and/or infertility in order to make an effort to fight vaccine hesitancy in the public.
