North Carolina Transitions to Phase 2.5

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announces phase 2.5 amidst the process of reopening the state. This was announced on Tuesday, September 1st.


In Executive Order 163, defined as: “Revised Prohibitions and Restrictions to Protect Lives in Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the transition to phase 2.5 allows more businesses and resources to be open to the public.


Phase 2.5 begins Friday, September 4. Playgrounds and bowling alleys will be open, as well as gyms at only 30% capacity. Businesses such as nightclubs and movie theatres will remain closed within this phase. 


North Carolina currently has had a total of 171,000 COVI-19 cases, 2,800 deaths, and 2,111 active cases as of today.
